The Connecticut Witch Trial Exoneration Project is excited about House Joint Resolution Number 34, Resolution Concerning Certain Witchcraft Convictions in Colonial Connecticut. On May 10, 2023, the measure to absolve those accused of witchcraft was adopted by the House of Representatives by a vote of 121 to 30. HJ 34 now moves on to the Senate.
We greatly appreciate the hard work of Representatives Jane Garibay and Steven Stafstrom to get this resolution passed, and we wish to express our deepest gratitude to the bill’s 25 cosponsors.
Many, many people have contributed to this project, and we are deeply indebted to all those who’ve volunteered. Let’s keep the momentum going and get HJ 34 to the governor’s desk.
